Airbus Helicopters, exhibiting with its parent company on Outdoor Stand D480, is demonstrating its capability in the military sphere with a line-up of rugged, capable and mission-ready military rotorcraft.

Included in the exhibits is one of its newest military helicopters, the twin-engine EC645 T2, which has been ordered by Germany for its Kommando Spezialkräfte (Special Forces Command), with deliveries to begin in 2015. As the most powerful model in the Airbus Helicopters EC145 series, the EC645 T2, powered by two Turbomeca Arriel 2E engines with dual-channel full authority digital engine control (FADEC), is equipped with a modern digital cockpit with the Helionix avionics suite and full night vision capability, as well as a four-axis autopilot.

The new Helionix avionics suite integrates flight envelope protection, pilot assistance and improved situational awareness, providing additional operability, enhanced safety and crew workload, while facilitating maintenance. In addition to its application in the EC645 T2 and its civil EC145 T2 version, Helionix has been certified on the medium-weight EC175 multirole rotorcraft, which is to be delivered to customers beginning later this year.

Completing the company’s presence at Eurosatory – its first in the Airbus Helicopters identity following the rebranding from Eurocopter – are scale models of the EC725 Caracal and the military Panther version of the Dauphin family.
