When time-sensitive targets appear, it can be difficult in a fluid tactical environment to match the right shooter to the target before it disappears. Rafael (Hall 6, Stand E758) has created an answer in the form of its Samson Knight distributed system.
Comprising a single box (plus nav/comms equipment if required), or even plugged as a card into a weapon system, Samson Knight forms an adaptive weapons network of shooters, whether they are vehicles, helicopters, UAVs, aircraft or artillery. When targets are located, the system automatically matches the best shooter to engage the target, taking into account target type, proximity, line of sight for the shooter and availability. This is all performed rapidly and automatically.
