Systematic launches embedded training solution for SitaWare

C4I software specialist Systematic has developed a digital training capability for its SitaWare suite.

Its new SitaWare Aspire solution enables students to train in the real system interface. A Systematic spokesperson told Janes that it will initially be available for training users of the company's SitaWare Frontline software, which is typically configured as a vehicle-borne system and intended to deliver situational awareness, forces tracking, and range of command-and-control functions.

The training course also encompasses traditional text and video-based instructions, however, Systematic foresees significant benefits being brought through the use of in-app exercises, “Users develop their C4I skillset hands-on, navigating, and operating the actual interface.” SitaWare Aspire also includes a digital instructor that guides students through the courseware.

The spokesperson said that a launch customer for SitaWare Aspire has been found, but they were unable to disclose the identity. They did note, however, that it has been trialled with representatives from the Royal Danish Army and Ireland Defence Forces, and was developed in collaboration with customers.

The first iteration of SitaWare Aspire will give foundation training that is typically delivered via instructors in a classroom setting and ensure a benchmark is established across all students before progressing to more advanced training, the spokesperson said. It can be used for more specialist training requirements and also to serve as a ‘refresher' for those that have previously used SitaWare but not used it for some time and may have experienced skills fade.

The company plans to introduce Aspire across the SitaWare suite, with a version for SitaWare Headquarters set to be introduced in the second quarter of 2022.
