Janes, the trusted global agency for open-source defense intelligence is delighted to announce it is partnering with the T-Rex Facility, St. Louis MO to host its inaugural Janes Intara Data Integration Day on December 15, 2021. In the first event of its kind, invited participants from the geospatial community will gather at T-REX to test and develop with Janes foundational open-source defense intelligence.

“The event is designed to increase understanding of the use of open-source intelligence and interoperability among disparate data sources. We’re excited to provide this opportunity for experimentation and discussion to enrich the geospatial intelligence picture.” said Ben Conklin, Chief Product Officer at Janes.

In the first in this series of events run by Janes, participants will be invited to use a sample dataset within Janes Intara to answer current intelligence questions focused on a specific military challenge using only open-source intelligence.

“Janes foundational intelligence has continued to highlight how commercial sources can support a classified requirement. I’m excited for the chance to work with our partners in an open-forum to explore interoperability among disparate data sources and expand the creation of unclassified intelligence,” said Conklin.

“The Janes event brings experimentation, innovative thinking, and cross-organizational discussion to our Geospatial Innovation Center at T-REX,” said Mark Tatgenhorst, T-REX Geospatial Director.  Our mission is to seek out, facilitate, and support innovation, and the use of open-source data is of particular interest in our efforts.”
