Elbit Systems Sweden has been selected as the integration partner for the Swedish Army's digitalisation programme LSS Mark, the company announced on 25 October.

Elbit Systems Sweden will oversee the roll-out of LSS Mark for the Swedish Army. In 2022 the latest configuration of the tactical C2 system, LSS Mark 2.0, was installed in the Skaraborg Regiment's CV90 armoured combat vehicles and Mercedes-Benz G-Class vehicles for testing. Elbit Systems Sweden has been selected as the integration partner for the Swedish Army's digitalisation programme LSS Mark, the company announced on 25 October.

LSS Mark is a new tactical command-and-control (C2) system being introduced to the Swedish Armed Forces on a unit-by-unit basis, beginning with the army. Tens of thousands of existing and future platforms in the armed forces, such as armoured vehicles, tanks, combat boats, and cars will be installed with the system.

As part of the EUR170 million (USD179.88 million) contract, Elbit Systems will be responsible for integrating and operationalising LSS Mark for the Swedish Army. This will comprise integrating, installing, maintaining, and upgrading C2 systems on a variety of platforms from command posts and vehicles, through to dismounted systems.

A company spokesperson told Janes that “LSS Mark is a system of systems, and parts will evolve and change over time. Elbit Systems Sweden's role is to ensure that regardless of the subsystems, LSS Mark is available to the Swedish Army. It's also worth noting that Elbit Systems is a major supplier, and [the company] is the provider of other communication platforms within the LSS Mark programme including the E-Lynx software-defined radio platform as the backbone of LSS Mark”.

Work will be carried out at the company's facilities in Sweden.
