Rosoboronexport signed contracts for the supply of aviation items totalling USD1.3 billion during the Dubai Airshow 2021, the head of the state corporation Rostec, Sergei Chemezov, told reporters on 16 November.

“The contracts were concluded for the supply of combat aircraft, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and aircraft engines. For objective reasons, we cannot name the countries,” he said.

According to Chemezov, the event in Dubai confirmed that interest in Russian aviation equipment and, above all, in combat aircraft and helicopters, is still high.

At the show, Rosobronexport received requests from foreign customers for the supply of aircraft, helicopters, and UAVs totalling more than USD2.5 billion, the head of the company, Alexander Mikheev, told reporters. “During 2021, Rosoboronexport plans to supply 36 aircraft for various purposes, about 60 helicopters, aircraft engines, and UAVs,” he added.

According to Mikheev, to date, Rosoboronexport's portfolio of orders for the supply of helicopters includes more than 180 combat rotorcraft for approximately USD4 billion. In the portfolio of orders, air force equipment accounts for 42%, and air defence equipment for 31%.
