DroneShield has secured two contracts, one from the US Department of Defense (DoD) and the other from a US government agency, to provide multiple types of handheld counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) equipment.

The deliveries under the two contracts, together valued at USD2.2 million, are expected to be completed by June, the CEO of the company, Oleg Vornik, told Janes on 18 April. The payment for both the orders is expected in September, he added.

The C-UAS equipment to be delivered under the two contracts includes the recently launched DroneGun Mk4 as well as the RfPatrol, Vornik confirmed. “The RfPatrol is a natural companion device to the DroneGun Mk4. The former detects and the latter defeats,” he said.

He declined to comment about the other equipment that DroneShield will deliver to the US government because of the sensitive nature of the contracts.

Vornik said that under a separate contract DroneShield also completed the delivery of an undisclosed number of the DroneGuns and the RfPatrols to a “Western” government agency.

The contract, announced in December 2022, is valued at AUD11 million (USD7.4 million). The company said that payment for this order will be completed by the end of May.

According to Janes C4ISR and Mission Systems: Land , the DroneGun family of C-UASs are manportable systems with rifle-like ergonomics designed to provide countermeasure capabilities against different unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
