Mary Webb has been an employee of Jane's for more than 19 years. Having started her employment in the defense sector, she was involved at a managerial level in a number of the transport publications, both for existing products and in new product development, before being appointed as managing editor (ME), transport, in 1994. After an illness, she stepped down as ME, transport, and accepted the opportunity to take over the editorship of Jane's Road Traffic Management and ITS in March 2001, having commissioned and championed the first edition of the title in 1997. Mary took over the editorship of Jane's Urban Transport Systems in April 2002.

Mary has wide experience in the transport market and has an appreciation and understanding of the aspirations, objectives and goals of IHS Jane's, its working processes and the expectations of its customers.
