Mike McBride
Mike McBride has a track record of service in the British Police, the Territorial Army and the UK Ministry of Defence.

A full-time police officer since 1984, Mike McBride has worked in the uniformed and detective branches of the police service. On promotion to sergeant and then inspector he has benefited from operating in several areas of the UK. As part of a national working party on a thematic audit, he also contributed to a Home Office report on police officer safety.

In 1996, Mike McBride published his first book on policing, Street Survival Skills. He has also authored Crime Patrol and the UK Police Guide.

He has acted as a consultant for IHS and written a special report on the European Police Firearms Markets. Additionally, Mike McBride has written articles for academic journals and magazines regarding law enforcement and terrorism-related issues and, in co-operation with a UK company, he has contributed to improving security at high-risk facilities, such as prisons and airports.

Since 2000, Mike McBride has been editor of Jane's Police and Homeland Security Equipment, traveling extensively to find the latest and best equipment to make policing safer and more effective.
