Systematic debuted the latest addition to its SitaWare suite of command-and-control (C2) software applications at the Eurosatory 2010 exhibition.
SitaWare C2 Server provides web-based access to a common operational picture (COP). Based on an open architecture, it enables integrators to build a COP in a simple web browser or through other applications using an open web services interface. It is scalable and platform-independent.
Systematic showed a technical demonstrator of the C2 Server product at the Defence Systems Equipment International (DSEi) exhibition in September 2009, but development is now complete. Michael Holm, Systematic President and Chief Executive Officer, told Jane's that the C2 server has been developed to be compliant with the Multilateral Interoperability Programme (MIP) Blocks 2 and 3 and will underpin the latest SitaWare 5 suite. Its new architecture eases the integration of SitaWare functionality with external systems. He said that the new Battle Command Core Services programme in the US was following the same principles.
In co-operation with Hewlett Packard, SitaWare C2 Server is being incorporated into the Joint Command and Control Support Programme (JC2SP), the UK's next-generation C2 programme, which will be hosted on the Defence Information Infrastructure (DII).
