Oshkosh to supply USAF with snow blowers and firefighting vehicles

The US Air Force (USAF) has ordered 15 Striker firefighting vehicles and 21 H-Series snow blowers from Oshkosh Airport Products Group.
The order, worth a total of USD19.7 million, was placed by the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia.
Domestic and foreign USAF bases will receive the 36 vehicles from January 2010.
Eight Striker 3000 and seven Striker 1500 vehicles will be delivered. The Striker 3000 features an all-wheel-drive axle configuration and includes proprietary technologies such as TAK-4 independent suspension and triple agent firefighting capabilities. Other features include a 680 hp engine, water capacity of more than 11,300 litres and a foam capacity of 1,590 litres.
