OpenView Group upgrades Bristol security technology
By Ben Vogel

Electronic security systems specialist OpenView Group has completed an upgrade of access control and surveillance equipment at Bristol International Airport in the UK.
After operator South West Airports Ltd decided to augment security at Bristol, OpenView subsidiary Camrasonic delivered 100 closed-circuit television (CCTV) and fixed cameras; access control systems for public and restricted areas; and a high-resolution automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR) system.
CCTV cameras are installed throughout the terminal and fixed cameras are installed in high-risk areas. Data from all cameras is fed to three different agency control rooms used respectively by the airport authorities, HM Customs, and Avon and Somerset Police. Images are routed via a central matrix system and all information is recorded on hard disk, with copies made for long-term storage.
In total, the number of landside and airside CCTV cameras has more than trebled as a result of the upgrade.
The ANPR installation has been given Secured Car Park status by Avon and Somerset Police.
