Mozambique price hike protests turn deadly

The deaths came after two days of protests and rioting against the rising cost of living that began on 1 September, and which drew thousands to the streets of the capital Maputo and other areas such as Matola. Some 288 people were also wounded and 23 businesses were damaged and looted, according to government spokesman Alberto Nkutumula.
