Google threat highlights China's cyber espionage

The threat, issued via Google's official corporate blog, is an about face from the initial acceptance by the company of filters on its search engine when it first launched google.cn in January 2006. Then, arguing that providing filtered Google services in China was preferable to no Google services, the California-based company self-censored various search terms that the Chinese Communist Party requested to be restricted, such as 'Tiananmen Square'.
