Chomping criminals give food for thought
8/20/2009
OFFICERS at West Midlands Police could not believe their eyes last week when they walked into their station canteen to find known criminals tucking into lunch.
Bobbies taking a break in Erdington police station, north of Birmingham, were 'outraged' to find offenders they had arrested just months before making themselves comfortable in the staff canteen, one told Police Review this week.
A group of offenders had been invited to the station last Wednesday and Thursday (12 and 13 August) to clear up the gardens as part of a community payback scheme.
But to officers' surprise, the criminals were invited into the station to use the facilities.
