Boost for Romanian Army armoured engineer capability

The Romanian Army has fielded a new armoured engineer tank designated the DMT-85M1 (Deminare Mecanic Tancul).
Developed and produced by the UMB (Uzina Mecanica Bukuresti) company, the DMT-85M1 is based on the chassis and components of the Romanian TR-85M1 Bisonul main battle tank itself a derivative of the Russian T-55. It is powered by an 8VSA2T2 turbo-charged diesel with a maximum output of 610.46 kW at 2,300 rpm. Maximum moment of force is 282 daNm at 1,650 rpm and specific power 144.3 kW/tonne. When fully equipped the vehicle weighs 44.2 tonnes and has an average ground pressure of 0.75 daN/cm². Its maximum speed without its plough deployed is 60 km/h, and its maximum ramp angle is 32 degrees (a maximum of 15 degrees with plough). Range is 400 km.
