As part of an ongoing drive not only to provide higher quality data but also to ensure that it is presented and delivered in the way that users find most effective, IHS Jane's is in the process of transforming the specification content in its defence equipment and technology databases into a structured xml format - a process that will make your IHS Jane's data much easier to manipulate.

You may have noticed increasing numbers of infographics in our news and analysis articles as the year has progressed; these are made possible by the restructuring of our data, which enables quick and easy searches, comparisons and data visualisations.

The team has just completed the restructuring of the Land Platform data, so users of products such as Jane's Armour and Artillery and Jane's Infantry Weapons will now be seeing the benefits of far greater data consistency, as well as the ability to compare and contrast land platforms, systems, subsystems and technologies in a way that has not previously been possible.
