Jane’s Gains New U.S. Ad Sales Director From Defense News

WASHINGTON , DC (June. 9, 2008) -- Jane’s Information Group has appointed Janet Berta as United States Advertising Sales Director. Berta comes to Jane’s as serving as Associate Publisher of Army Times Publishing, a subsidiary of Gannett, whose titles include Defense News and Army Times.
While at Army Times, Berta managed advertising revenue for print media, conferences, sponsorships and online products, and was successful in securing one of the largest weekly advertising revenue in the corporation’s history.

Over recent years, I have watched as Jane’s has dominated in the world of reporting and I feel privileged to now be a part of this successful team,” Berta said. “It is clear to me after meeting the team at Jane’s why Jane’s is considered the standard by which all other publications are measured.”
Berta has wide experience within the industry having worked in the business development of telecom firms, and selling transponder space and equipment for satellite companies. She also spent 13 years working for Sprint and three years working for Orion where she was responsible for satellite systems sold to the oil and gas industry.
Berta is from the Midwest of the United States, but has spent most of her professional career in Washington, D.C. She attended the University of Colorado and American University for International Business.
Berta also recognizes the value of her local community and has served on the Board of Directors for the improvement of her residential area and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Loudon Symphony.
