Sagem Sécurité wins deal to supply biometric systems to Cairo

14 January 2008

Sagem Sécurité has been selected to supply biometric border control systems for the new Terminal 3 (T3) at Cairo Airport.

The contract involves the provision of "a complete system for the automation of border control for passengers, similar to the PEGASE system in Charles de Gaulle Terminal 2F", an official at the French company told Jane's, adding: "It comprises a central station, gates, monitoring and registration stations integrating MSO 301 [MorphoSmart] biometric fingerprint scanners."

MorphoSmart is a multipurpose fingerprint processing unit with a high-end optical sensor and a microcontroller for encoding. It is designed to be used with PC-based applications.
