Plan to ban sex offenders from online networking sites
08 April 2008
CHILD sex offenders' email addresses could be handed over to internet networking sites in an attempt to stop them grooming children online, the Home Office has announced.
Under ministers' proposals, any offender who gives a fake email address or refuses to hand their address over to police officers will face up to five years in prison.
The Government hopes these new measures will be enough for websites to remove offenders' profiles and stop them grooming children online.
