Lebanon discusses heavy weaponry procurement with Russia

Lebanese Defence Minister Elias Murr visited Moscow on 15 December to discuss the procurement of heavy weaponry, Russian media sources indicated.
According to state-owned news service RIA Novosti, an unidentified Lebanese General Staff official said the Middle Eastern country was interested in acquiring tanks, anti-tank rockets, armoured vehicles, helicopters and air defence systems from Russia. The official quoted Murr as saying: "There are no obstacles to equipping the army."
