David Cain
Senior Solutions Director, IHS
David Cain is a Senior Solutions Director at IHS Inc. He is responsible for Regulatory Performance, Energy and Carbon solutions strategy. Mr. Cain has over 30 years of experience in the electric utility and energy sector. He joined IHS in 2008 when his company (ESP) was acquired by IHS. Since 2002 he has specialized in environmental management information systems. Mr. Cain oversaw the development of the first enterprise carbon management solution, which was deployed in 2003; it since has been deployed and is being used in major utility and oil and gas companies worldwide. For 20 years he was a Senior Project Manager at the Electric Power Research Institute, working with utility companies on advanced technologies ranging from instrumentation and controls to artificial intelligence applications.
Mr. Cain holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.
