Content Structure
The purpose of this set of binders is to provide a reference tool for the user to examine the profi le of over 500 of the world’s airlines. Listed in alphabetical order across two binders and divided between A–J and K–Z, the entries are presented in a concise format.
Airlines are considered for inclusion based on the following guidelines:
Finally, some entries may fall outside the above criteria, but have been included at the editor’s discretion.
Indices
A particular airline may be located by using either the alpha index or through the geographical index which lists the airline in alpha order within its country and region.
Format/Frequency
The hard copy subscriber receives updates in March and September. The CD-ROM subscriber receives quarterly updates. The online subscriber has access to monthly online updates. The updated entries are tagged with a code that represents when the airline entry has been revised. This code appears on the foot of the page with the airline’s three or four letter identifier. Entries published prior to A42 appear with an additional code that represents when that entry was first published.
The updated entries are inserted manually into the binders by following the ‘Information for Inserting New Material’ instructions, distributed with each update. A Summary of Major Changes is also included that lists brief highlights of changes made to each entry.
To help users of this title evaluate the published data, Jane’s Information Group has divided the entries into updates and new.
Any update to the Content of this product will appear online as it occurs (see jwa.janes.com for the additional benefi ts of an online subscription to Jane’s World Airlines and details of our free online trial) and will be incorporated biannually into future print editions of Jane’s World Airlines.
