CNIA contracts AIS for training services

Thursday, 26 February, 2009

Security integration and facilitation group Advanced Integrated Systems (AIS) has been awarded two contracts worth a combined AED767m (£144m) to provide operational and technical training for the UAE’s Critical National Infrastructure Authority (CNIA).

The first contract, lasting 12 months, will see AIS deliver specialist training to qualify CNIA’s special weapons and tactics (Swat) teams. Under the second award, AIS will provide CNIA with controllers and operators of control and telecom systems over a five-year period.

This deal will see the company perform recruitment, training and certification of qualified operators to man CNIA’s command and control centres.

Khlafan Al Shamsi, chief executive officer of AIS, said: “We are proud to be in co-operation with CNIA as well as to expand our technological coverage for the security of the UAE.”
