Show Details
IDEX 2007 will be held between 18 and 22 February in the new Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre.
The completion of Phase One of the centre in December 2006 will provide more than 28,000 sq m of exhibition space. The completion of Phase Two will supply an additional 27,000 sq m, providing a total exhibition space of 57,000 sq m including the atrium. In addition to this there is a stunning 21,000 sq m concourse, creating one of the largest purpose-built exhibition facilities in the Middle East.
The exhibition attracts thousands of visitors, including VIPs and official delegations of defence ministers and chiefs of staff. Live mobility demonstrations, a firing range at Al-Maqatra and an impressive naval exhibition at Port Zayed complement the exhibition, making this one of the premier events in the defence exhibition calendar.
Taking place on 17 February, the day before IDEX opens, the Gulf Defence Conference will feature a number of senior serving officers from North America and Europe who are coming to Abu Dhabi to discuss important military developments and how these relate to the particular needs of the countries of the Gulf. Defence and security equipment manufacturers join the debate to highlight what they can offer, and senior figures from the IT sector explain their contributions to high-technology warfare and the maintenance of effective security at home.
The Jane’s IDEX 2007 site has been constructed with the assistance of the official show organisers, ADNEC.
