Experience gained by Sagem Défense Sécurité (Stand 1305) on a range of helicopter programmes puts it in a good position to apply its skills to upgrade requirements. It is particularly strong in optronic, autopilot and navigation systems, but can also call on the Safran Group’s wider expertise.
Consequently, the company can offer all-round and modular solutions for upgrades on existing helicopters as well equipping new ones. Sagem designs and manufactures a range of NVG-compatible glass cockpits that are linked to the autopilot and flight control, and interface with different systems, including the weapon mission manager.
The displays provide for such functions as navigation, autopilot interface, primary flight display, engine monitoring, moving map, FLIR and radar. To extend the capability of current helicopters, Sagem also offers mission computers, gyrostabilised optronic sensors, autopilots, flight data recorders, satcom and mission planning systems.
