RAID on Czech Army
RAID on Czech ArmyBruker Daltonics exhibiting on Stand 1216 has been awarded a US$4m contract to supply its RAID-XP manportable chemical agent and radiation detector for integration into Steyr-Daimler-Puch’s Pandur wheeled armoured vehicles for the Czech Army. Their primary mission is the protection of crew members against chemical agents and gamma radiation, although the RAID-XP can also be removed from the vehicle for manportable missions.

VIPIR-2 sight wins more orders
VIPIR-2 sight wins more ordersQioptiq of St Asaph, North Wales (Stand 1917), has announced two recent orders for its VIPIR-2 Lightweight Thermal Imager (LTI). The UK Ministry of Defence has awarded the company a contract to supply more than 450 VIPIR-2 WTI plus direct support of equipment and spares, to be installed on the 5.56mm SA-80 assault rifle. This will enable targets to be engaged under almost all environmental conditions.

Amazon CasesUK-based Amazon Cases is launching a range of tough, lightweight cases for which it has forged a partnership with IBS Flight Cases of Dubai, which will provide a customisation service for internal foam cushioning. Produced from rotomoulded polyethelene, the cases are notable for their resistance to heat, cold, sand and dust, as well as to chemical attack and physical damage.

BAE Systems believes its new Commander SL long-range surveillance radar is well placed to secure orders across the Middle East region. Building on the pedigree of the successful AR327 Commander radar, currently in use with the UK Royal Air Force and a number of other customers worldwide, Commander SL is an E/F-band tactical radar incorporating the very latest solid-state transmitter/receiver design, software signal processing, advanced digital tracking and commercial-off-the-shelf components.

Although designed with French Army soldiers in mind, FELIN is seen to be a technological and operational breakthrough, using an integrated and modular system to optimise all combat missions.
