Virtually hands-free radio is a turn-on
AMTI is showing a variety of products on Stand H220f, including new communications items. Of particular interest is the Alpha 3575 radio, which provides manual and remote power level controls for 12, 25, and 50/75W across the 30-512MHz frequency range and with no band splits in coverage. Like all AMTI amplifiers, it is true HAVEQUICK and SINCGARS compatible, not merely capable!

Better fit from new earmuffs

BAE arms fury UAV with new missile
Last week, BAE Systems unveiled its Fury UAV, armed with Thales UK Lightweight Multirole Missile System (LiMMS), which had been made public only days before. The Fury is an armed reconnaissance and close support UAV, based on the piston-engined HERTI surveillance platform, which was used successfully during 2007 in support of UK forces in Afghanistan.

Danes reach higher levels
Danish company Falck Schmidt Defence Systems is showing two of its latest products at Eurosatory (Stand F080). The first is a Missile Stand Lifting Platform (MSLP) for the Finnish Defence Forces (FDF), with first production units just delivered; the other an Elevated Mast Platform (EMP), which has been developed and integrated into a Piranha II (8x8) armoured personnel carrier to meet a Danish Army requirement.

Gathering intelligence
Shown for the first time in Europe on the Boeing stand (J190a), a small unmanned ground vehicle dubbed the SUGV Early has been developed by the company in partnership with iRobot. It is a smaller and lighter version of the combat-proven PackBot produced by iRobot and declared to be small enough to go where personnel cannot – or should not.
