Elbit offers SDR for export
Since last Eurosatory Elbit Systems (Stand DS40a) has acquired Tadiran Communications, and a new division has been created: Land and C4I – Tadiran. The division’s SDR-7200 software-defined radio system is operational with the Israel Defence Force, but is now being offered for export. Land and C4I – Tadiran is also presenting its THF 8000 HF radio system.

360° security from HGH
Based at Igny, south of Paris in France’s ‘Optics Valley’, HGH (Stand Q230a) produces a range of infrared products for military, security and commercial applications. On show here is the Vigiscan, a 360° surveillance IR system. By using a sensor head that rotates once every second, Vigiscan produces an all-round panoramic
image to keep watch over a large area. The operator can zoom into selected zones, and there is an automatic intrusion or scene-change alarm function.

Rugged sterilisation for German field hospitals
Fedegari Autoclavi SpA (Stand D200f) is a world leader in sterilisation systems. In the early 1980s it began supplying the Feldautoklav system to the German Army for its field hospitals. The latest product in the range is the Feldautoklav H2000L, an automatic compact steam steriliser system for use in field hospitals. It is ruggedised to survive in the difficult conditions encountered in the field without compromising sterilisation capability.

Konstrukta recycling ammunition
The disposal of obsolete ammunition is a perennial headache for armies, as it poses safety issues and incurs high storage costs. Konstrukta-Industry from Slovakia (Stand N210b) operates an ammunition disposal and recycling plant that can process ammunition from small arms rounds to 155mm. Rounds are disassembled remotely in a bunker before the explosives are removed. The cases are cleaned, and can be used again or as scrap. Explosives can be recycled for civilian applications.
