On the morning of Wednesday 18 June, the president of GICAT welcomes the official delegations of the Ministry of Defence and Army Staff, the Indian Embassy in Paris and the delegation of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for an inaugural ceremony, to be concluded by the signature of an MoU. After a visit to both national pavilions and talks with the officials of the French Ministry of Defence, both delegations will meet for an official lunch in the GICAT lounge.
In the afternoon, the Indian Ministry of Defence will present to exhibitors and visitors the priority requirements of the Indian armed forces, the evolution of acquisition regulations, including specific conditions for the private industry. The Department of Defence Research and Technology (DRDO) will explain its efforts in research and its priority for co-operation in the area of high technology. Finally, the CII and an Indian industry panel will present their proposals for partnership, within the framework of offsets or bilateral co-operation.
