Expert strategic analysis at Think Tank Village
Wednesday, 18 June, 2008
Eurosatory’s position as the world’s leading exhibition of land defence and security equipment has this year been further enhanced through the establishment of an International Think Tank Village, located close to the main entrance.
In the world of high-tech defence industries, military delegations and political decisionmakers, the strategic analysis that drives the operational doctrine – in turn shaping warfare and procurement – can easily be overlooked.
The Think Tank Village addresses this by providing a collective area for senior analysis institutes, and a forum for a series of round tables to discuss and dissect the key issues facing the warfighter.
Represented in the Village are French think tanks Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique (FRS), le Haut Comité Français pour la Défense Civile (HCFDC) and l’Institut Français des Relations Internationales (IFRI).
Foreign perspectives are provided by the UK’s Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) from Sweden.
These organisations welcome visitors to their stands, and also to take part in the daily lunchtime round tables with key analysts from the institutes as they tackle the important geopolitical challenges of today and tomorrow.
