Command post contract awarded
Wednesday, 18 June, 2008
A $240m contract for high-mobility command posts has been awarded by the US Army to a team of Northrop Grumman and DHS Systems.
Under the Standardized Integrated Command Post Systems/Trailer-Mounted Support Systems (SICPS/TMSS) programme, the Army is providing new command posts for all its combat brigades, including those deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sustainment brigades and reservist units are not included as yet, although the NG/DHS team expects follow-on orders to cover these formations.
SICPS/TMSS uses DHS’s Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelters (DRASH) for both medium and large command post applications. DHS is also supplying trailer-based power and climate control units, while Northrop Grumman provides the command post suite.
