Collaborative communications
Tuesday, 17 June, 2008
US company Voiceboard Corporation (Stand J220j) is promoting its new BridgeWay-M8100, a MIL -ST D-810 mobile communications command and control console, intercom and radio interoperability system, which, it says, leverages advanced VoIP technology to provide the military with major size, weight and power savings, new functionality and increased mobility over prior technology.
BridgeWay manages collaborative communications between land mobile radio, satcom terminals, telephone systems, user headsets and VoIP networked communication terminals, such as laptops, workstations and IP telephones. Its client-server architecture supports networked distributed systems, as well as remote operation.
According to the company, the high density design and built-in distributed multimedia switching and processing capabilities reduce communications system size, weight and power requirements to a fraction of those required by previous generation technology. The system’s low power consumption and industrial/military-rated operating environment specifications result in reliable operation for mission-critical
applications worldwide.
BridgeWay-M8100 packs the power to support eight radios and up to 64 Java-based command and control consoles in a ruggedised package. Field personnel may plug in SAT phone, radios, headsets and IP communications terminals or PCs and have a complete field communications network set up in minutes.
