CNi security strategy briefings

Friday, 11 September, 2009

Yesterday, CNi Expo and The Institute for Security and Resilience Studies hosted the first in a two-part series of Government Security Strategy Breakfast Briefings sponsored by General Dynamics UK. Chaired by Dr John Reid MP, the purpose of the briefing was to give greater transparency and clarity to the security industry on Government Security Strategy going forward.

The first session saw straight talking from Charles Farr, Director General of the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism, and Liz Siberry, Director of CPNI.

Today’s second breakfast will be an opportunity for industry to hear directly from Robert Raine, Director of Olympic Safety and Security, and Lord West, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Security and Counter Terrorism. They will be joined by Michael Chertoff, the former Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, to give a US overview.

The briefings are a precursor to the launch of CNi Expo – Security and Resilience for the Public and Private Sector, organised by Clarion Events. CNi Expo is the event for solutions, products and ideas that effectively mitigate risk, build resilience and ensure security from all threats to critical national infrastructure. www.cniexpo.com
