Fleet management potential for ABRO

UK company ABRO (Stand 655) has been down selected as a contender for the provision of Comprehensive Whole Fleet Management Services (CWFMS) for the Ministry of Defence (MoD). A shortlist will be issued early in 2008.

The industry assessment phase is being conducted by the Whole Fleet Management Integrated Project Team and Deloitte and started earlier this year. A procurement strategy has now been developed that allows earlier engagement of potential bidders to undertake whatever solution is approved. Under CWFMS, units will be issued with only a small number of vehicles, which will be used for unit and formation training. The majority of the equipment will be stored in a controlled humidity environment and issued when units deploy. To deliver the correct quantities of equipment from each fleet, the Joint Asset Management and Engineering Systems Management Information System will be used and implemented incrementally.
