CBRN protection for the 21st century

For 20 years the Hunter Manufacturing Company has been producing air filters and filtration systems to protect US and overseas armed forces against CBRN threats and it has brought some of its latest developments to the show.

These include the FFA400- 400 third-generation CBRN filtration system displayed on Stand 1031, and currently being evaluated by the US Army for installation on vehicles or wall mounted on buildings. Designed to remove toxic chemical and biological warfare agents in gaseous and aerosol forms from the air stream, FFA400-400 provides a toxin-free environment for personnel or equipment. It achieves this by creating positive pressure in the toxinfree area.

Hunter’s somewhat smaller M93 100 cfm gas particulate filter unit may be seen nearby atop a mast on Stand 904, where Textron Marine & Land Systems is displaying an M1117 armoured security vehicle equipped with the unit. The smallest and lightest in the Hunter family of filter units, the M93 can be employed to provide positive pressure protection to mobile shelters as well as vehicles.

The FA400-400 may look like a camouflaged dustbin, but it is an ideal system for integration with hard wall, fixed site command and control or communication shelters
