New aids to combat terrorism
Monday, 10 September, 2007
A global supplier of video-centric microwave radio and satellite transmission products, Vislink’s Defence, Law Enforcement and Security (DLES) business division is demonstrating its communication and video surveillance range on Stand 364. DLES was established earlier this year to integrate a combination of leading-edge technologies from companies within the group, including Advent Communications, Link Research and MRC Communications.
Jointly developed by Advent and MRC Communications and making its first international appearance, the Summit Flyaway Satellite System is a lightweight one-point auto-acquisition terminal.
Its facilities include remote internet and VPN connectivity, as well as high-performance video conferencing, providing a fully integrated and rugged solution for fast deployment satellite communications.
Link Research is demonstrating its recently launched Digital Urban Video (DUV) strategic video surveillance system. Based on the company’s proven technology in the demanding field of global broadcasting, the DUV system is a direct response to the requirement for improved counterterrorism surveillance and is claimed to represent a major advance in reliable transmission and image resolution for mission critical applications. The DUV enables video surveillance to be conducted in densely built up areas and over significantly extended ranges.MRC Communications is highlighting its turnkey datalink expertise, installed in a state-of-the-art Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) developed by Black-I-Robotics for EOD and IED-related applications. The UGV is in US Government service and incorporates MRC’s rugged video datalink. The system comprises the Strata COFDM transmitter and camera, a TRC Diversity receive case, and a handheld QuickVue receiver unit. This versatile and robust turnkey system is being offered as a highly cost-competitive alternative to conventional robot solutions.
