MicroSpyRobot sees all threats

Soldiers engaged in urban combat need to know as much as possible about their immediate surroundings, as the risk of ambush, booby traps and improvised explosive devices may be very high. Consequently obtaining information and minimising the risk of collateral damage is high on the list of priorities.

To provide soldiers with the means to inspect nearby areas, MacroSwiss (Stand 1393) has developed the MicroSpyRobot, which can be thrown like a hand grenade from some distance to the zone that needs to be inspected. Measuring only 20cm x 20cm, the robot weighs just 1.5kg and its high power to weight ratio ensures it can cope with difficult terrain.

The MicroSpyRobot complies with full IP67 specification and is supplied with an appropriate controller. It has two high-resolution night-and-day cameras that can be activated depending on how it lands after being thrown. Portable and easy to use, the robot can function in any weather. Tough enough to withstand being thrown to the ground from a second floor, the MicroSpyRobot is claimed to be one of the few mobile robots that can resist repeated such treatment and remain fully operational. Thus users may search a danger zone before being exposed to potentially

hostile threats.
