Augmented reality with ‘see-through’ LE-750A display

On Stand 1999, BFi Optilas is launching its Liteye’s LE-750A ‘see-through’ head-mounted display (HMD), which consists of a small, over-the-eye monitor mounted to an adjustable band that can be worn around the head or helmet.

The LE-750A combines the features of previous see-through units with the added built-in ruggedness of Liteye’s military products. This results in what is claimed to be the most functional, solidly built, see-through HMD ever offered.

Regardless of the terrain or climate, the LE-750A is designed to present critical data, maps and video feed from UAV or thermal weapon sights.

The LE-750A departs from a traditional monitor in that it offers augmented reality, which means the transmitted data displays transparently and the user can see through the image while operating within a hands-free environment.

The new HMD features Liteye’s patented prismatic optic, which combined with the high-performance, 800x600, full-colour OLED microdisplay, provides the end-user with what is said to be the clearest, brightest, colour-corrected image available today.

The prismatic optics package features a six-element design that achieves a distortion level of less than 0.05% while correcting lateral colour, allowing for a near flat display field with perfect colour presentation.

The LE-750A design is also very flexible and forgiving when it comes to viewing positions.
