Jane’s Transport Finance will hold its Annual Gala Awards Dinner on 27 November 2009. As is customary, the event will be held at the historic and lovely Merchant Taylors’ Hall in the heart of London’s financial district.
It is ironic that the Awards, which recognise outstanding achievement and innovation in an increasingly challenging marketplace, should be held at the Merchant Taylors’ Hall, or to give it the full name by which it is described in the Royal Charter of 1503, the Guild of Merchant Taylors of the Fraternity of St John Baptist in the City of London, one of the twelve great city livery companies surviving from mediaeval times.
The event has grown through the years and is widely viewed as the most prestigious event heralding the successes of bankers, lawyers and other finance professionals throughout the year.
The transport sector has recently been buffeted by record-high fuel prices, the credit crunch in the aftermath of the subprime meltdown and the shaky balance sheets at many major players.
Despite this adversity, transport finance practitioners have weathered the storm and continue to provide the requisite means and expertise to keep aircraft flying, ships sailing, rails rolling and the infrastructure required to keep it all together.
This year will certainly be no exception.
