Matthew Clements is the Eurasia Analyst at the Country Risk department of IHS Jane’s. In this role he assesses and provides projections on emerging threats to state stability in the Former Soviet Union on a range of issues including terrorism and insurgency, armed conflict, political instability, organised crime, and geopolitics. Matthew joined IHS Jane’s in 2005 and is based in London. He holds undergraduate and master’s degrees from the War Studies department at King’s College London.

Robert Munks

Regional Manager, Americas Country Analysis, IHS Country Risk

Robert Munks is the Regional Manager for the IHS Latin America Country Analysis team and Deputy Editor of the monthly security publication Jane’s Intelligence Review. He previously worked for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, mainly within the Latin American and Caribbean Department, and as a seconded policy advisor to the Secretary-General of the European Union. He holds BA and MA degrees from the University of Durham, England, in Modern European Languages.

Urmila Venugopalan

Consultant, South Asia

Urmila Venugopalan has worked for the past seven years as an editor and analyst in the field of South Asian affairs. A substantial proportion of this time was spent as the Asia Editor of Jane's Intelligence Review, focusing on political, defence, and security trends within India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Currently, as an independent analyst, Urmila continues to focus on the region through consultancy projects for a number of public and private organizations, ranging from the US Department of Defense to global risk management businesses. Urmila has also published several articles in Foreign Policy magazine and The Huffington Post, among other publications. Urmila was born and raised in Qatar before completing a undergraduate degree at McGill University in Canada, and then a master’s degree at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Over the past decade, she has lived and worked in Bombay, New Delhi, Doha, Dubai, London, and recently relocated to Washington DC.

David Hartwell

Senior Middle East Analyst, IHS Jane's

David Hartwell is the IHS Jane's senior country risk expert for the Middle East and North Africa (encompassing the Arabian peninsula, the Levant, the Mediterranean African states and the Horn of Africa). He has been at IHS  Jane's for seven years, and previously worked at the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence for five years in a number of analytical posts linked to Middle East politics and security.

He has a degree in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Birmingham and an MA in War Studies from King's College London
