Contract imminent for Objective Force Warrior

Contract imminent for Objective Force Warrior

By Scott Gourley, JDW Correspondent, California

US Army representatives are predicting the imminent contract award for the Lead Technology Integrator with its revolutionary Objective Force Warrior (OFW) system.

According to Jean-Louis DeGay, project manager of the Warrior Systems Integration Team at the US Army’s Soldier, Biological and Chemical Command, the OFW represents revolutionary technological changes as well as an evolutionary extension of the army’s currently emerging Land Warrior programme.

"What we’ve done essentially with OFW is to start with a naked soldier and, in line with the goal of reducing overall weight and bulk and load for the individual soldier, worked our way out.”
