Eldorado Cartridge Corporation developed this round to destroy locks, hinges and fixtures on doors and cars.

Description
This 12-gauge, 70 mm round has a muzzle velocity of 475 m/s and is capable of completely removing a hinge from a wood door (metal doors may require a second shot) or of removing the bolt from most locking mechanisms. During testing on 7.9 shank padlocks, it dislodged the shackles completely. The round will defeat automobile boot (trunk) and door mechanisms with little or no collateral damage to the vehicle interior. The door-breaching slug cartridge can double as a slug for short-range (less than 23 m) situations and is capable of 5 cm (2 in) groups at 23 m when fired from a rifled barrel. The slug will not damage shotgun bores, as it is constructed of fine metal shot, bound in a special matrix that allows breakup into a fine powder on impact. This minimises the potential for injury on the opposite side of the door. The round meets terminal ballistic requirements of the US Navy for door-breaking ammunition. It features S-70 steel shot compacted with a plastic cup. This round is available to military and law-enforcement organisations only.
