Russian SSBN Yuri Dolgoruky successfully fires four Bulavas

25 May 2018

Russia’s Borei-class (Project 955) ballistic missile submarine (SSBN) Yuri Dolgoruky successfully test fired a volley of four Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBMs) from the White Sea to hit designated targets at the Kura test range, situated 5,000 miles away on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East, on 22 May.

The successful test follows an earlier two-round salvo test launch conducted from Yuri Dolgoruky on 28 September 2016 that was only partially successful as one of two missiles self-destructed in flight.
