Boeing recorded strong first-quarter sales, earnings, and shipments numbers, it was announced on 25 April.
The company also upgraded its guidance for the coming year, in part due to a promising outlook for its Defense, Space and Security division.
“We are very encouraged by the strength of the US defence budget,” said Dennis Muilenburg, the company’s CEO, in a call with analysts.
“After having to endure the damage of several years of sequestration we are encouraged by the (multi)-year plans going forward.”
Boeing’s Defence, Space and Security division’s revenues, profit margins, and bookings all came in strong at USD5.8 billion; 11.3% and USD12 billion respectively.
