PAF launches new JF-17 squadron

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has inaugurated a new squadron equipped with the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) JF-17 Thunder multirole combat aircraft, according to a 28 February report by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

Named No 28 Multirole Squadron and stationed at PAF Base Samungli near Quetta, Balochistan, the new unit will be responsible for “providing day and night aerial defence of the country, especially along the western borders of Pakistan”, PAF commander Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, who attended the inauguration ceremony, was quoted by the state-owned media outlet as saying.
