Antonov, Taqnia Aeronautics, and Wahaj have signed an agreement to jointly manufacture the An-132D multi-purpose transport aircraft.
The modernised version of the An-132 is being co-developed by Ukrainian company Antonov and Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), and it made its maiden flight in April 2017.
This new agreement will see the three entities embark on the first stage of co-operative manufacturing, with Antonov acting as prime contractor.
A set of serial aircraft will initially be constructed at Antonov’s facilities with the assistance of Taqnia and Wahaj, with the latter two responsible for constructing components and units for the aircraft, specifically the landing gear in the case of Wahaj.
