L3 Technologies has announced that it has taken a minority stake in the US nanotechnologies company Peak Nano Optics.
Terms of the transaction – which were completed on 6 February and announced on 28 February – were not disclosed.
"Peak Nano's nanolayer gradient refractive index technology allows for the design and manufacture of lenses with greater electro-optical performance in visible to near-infrared applications at a fraction of the size, weight, and volume of currently available complex lenses," L3 said in a statement.
L3 Chief Executive Christopher E Kubasik said, "As part of our strategic innovation roadmap, we are continuing to develop and invest in promising new technologies."
