The US Air Force (USAF) is appropriating USD64 million to its wing and squadron commanders this week to improve readiness, according to its chief of staff.
General David Goldfein said wing and squadron commanders know best about how to improve their squadrons, and the money will be used to test and experiment and refine tactical ideas. USAF leadership for the last year has talked about revitalising squadrons as part of an effort to improve readiness.
