CNIM modernises French bridging systems

CNIM will soon deliver two 10 m-long bridge module prototypes of the French Army’s Pont Flottant F2 (PFM F2) motorised floating bridge system to the 6th Engineer Regiment for trials lasting until October.

It was awarded a contract to modernise 200 m of PFM F1 bridges and the delivery of an initial two trucks in December 2015. A contract for several load beds, additional trucks, and refurbishment of trailers was awarded in August 2017. Deliveries will be completed in 2020.

Included are 24 Scania P410 6x6 tractor trucks, including 10 with Essone Securité protected cabs, to replace Renault TRM 10000s; Yamaha 90 hp outboard engines; engine portable remote control system; 3.5 m-long access ramps with hydraulic system from Novium; load beds; and refurbished trailers.
